Baby Boomers - Retire in Mexico

Live Comfortably Where the Dollar Goes Further!

More and more Baby Boomers on a fixed income are looking at Mexico as a retirement solution.  Why?  Because you can live comfortably on considerably less than in the United States!  For many Baby Boomers, relocating to Mexico may be the only viable option for retirement.

International Living just (September 2009) named Mexico as the best place to retire overseas!  The carefully selected information below will help you to quickly learn about relocating to Mexico to enjoy your retirement years.

A piece of advice.  Do your homework.  Learn about the pluses and minuses.  And before making any decision, take an extended vacation to visit candidate locations within Mexico.  Some of the Websites below even offer special tours to acquaint Baby Boomers considering relocating with the local area.

Lake Chapala and Ajijic

Perhaps the most popular destination for American expatriates is Lake Chapala and neighboring Ajijic, San Antonio Tlayacapan, San Juan Cosala, and Jocotepec (commonly referred to as "Lakeside") in Jalisco, Mexico.  Great climate, low-cost everything, infrastructure and good company.  It is said to be like the U.S. in the 1950's.

According to the International Living Magazine (AARP), the fantastic climate, an international English-speaking community, the tranquility of picturesque Mexican villages, the beauty of Lake Chapala and the Sierra Madre mountains, the friendly people, the inexpensive cost of living (including having a maid and gardener if you wish ) and the relatively inexpensive real estate market have made this area one of the most sought after places to retire in Mexico.

Travel to and from the U.S. is easy via convenient air service.  The Guadalajara International airport is only 35 minutes away and the city of Guadalajara is only 15 minutes further.
